Exchange Alley Animation
'The Bubble Tree'

A
continuously looped animation projected in an historic site known as
'Exchange Alley' in the heart of London. The film depicted the life
cycle of a tree, slowly destroyed by its inhabitants as they scrabbled
for increasingly bizzare (but historically accurate) commodities to
trade on the precursor to the modern stock market. Their reckless trading
caused what is known as 'The South Sea Bubble' and subsequent crash in
the early 18th Century.
I was one of two Lead Animators
on the project. Shown below are a selection of concept designs, props, sets and characters I created as part of the production.

A collection of stills are shown below, taken from animations themed on the health of pregnant and new mothers and their children. These films were often translated into multiple languages and so we would need to adapt the designs to reflect the audiences the client was targeting.

The images for the Northamptonshire Guild of Designer Craftsmen and the 'Olympic Prelude' were both supplied by exhibiting Artists. All other artwork is my own.

Visual Projections for Events

There are two separate examples of my work creating short animated clips themed on a client's event. These clips would be used both indoors and out for private/corporate/charity and public events.
Below are designs used for a 'dark circus' themed New Years Eve event in the French Alps. The black-out areas are the sections of the stage that we were to avoid animating in; it was measured to harmonize with the architecture of the stage.
Below are two concepts used for clips on separate years of the Leeds Castle annual fireworks display. We were commissioned to create animations to project on the facade of the castle, to work with the audio. These two clips were 'The Monster Mash' and the Doctor Who theme.
